Lose weight to save myself and relationship.?

A kg a week is a high goal but still a pretty safe one. You're already doing the right things by lifting weights and doing some cardio. You should buy a heart rate monitor with a calorie counter in it (they make ones that are like a watch) and start trying to achieve a net intake of 1200-1300 calories per day. I use an IPod application called Lose it to track all my calories from food and exercises and I've been able to lose two pounds per week as long as I stick to it. Another thing that's important is to drink LOTS of water - you will lose lots of water weight if you drink at least 2 liters of water per day and three liters is even better. Another thing is to never blow off a workout - if you don't feel like going to the gym that's fine but go for a walk and wear the heart rate monitor - you'd be suprised, a fast walk will put your heart rate into the fat burning zone and then at least you're doing something.
