Can a muslim man marry a christian woman?

I am an 18 year old English christian and my boyfriend of 2 years is a 28 year old pakistani muslim. He is saying he wants to marry me but I dont see how this will work. I have discussed with him whether I would need to convert and he said he would love me to convert but if I dont he will still feel the same about me but if I dont I'm scared his family wouldnt accept me and I know they mean alot to him. I don't think I could convert because I beleive in the bible and wouldn't want to live a lie but I have agreed to meet his sister and she is going to teach me about Islam. If we have children I am prepared for them to be muslim. Im really confused and just want for us to be happy.
